Apple, Google Among Defendants in Employment Lawsuit
A software engineer recently filed a class-action lawsuit against some of the biggest technology companies in the U.S., claiming they conspired to fix employee pay.Siddharth Hariharan, who once worked for Lucasfilm, is suing his former employer along with Adobe, Apple, Google, Intel, Intuit and Pixar, accusing them of violating anti-trust laws, according to PC World. In addition, to alleging that the companies fixed employee pay, Hariharan claims that they agreed not to poach workers from other companies.”Its disappointing that, while we were working hard to make terrific products that resulted in enormous profits for Lucasfilm, senior executives of the company cut deals with other premiere high tech companies to eliminate competition and cap pay for skilled employees,” the plaintiff said in a statement, reports CNET.The lawsuit contends that in 2010 the U.S. Department of Justice investigated “similar misconduct” among the defendants, reports PC World. The lawyer for Hariharan told the news source that the governments investigation led to the companies agreeing to stop their alleged misconduct. The news provider reports that the companies named in the lawsuit have yet to comment on the matter.
