Carol Ney, the former Harahan police officer accused of padding her timesheets to pocket an extra $10,840, is scheduled for rearraignment today amid signs that she plans to plead guilty.
Carol NeyNey initially pleaded not guilty to the federal charge. But she is scheduled to change her plea during a 1:30 p.m. appearance before U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman. U.S. Attorney Jim Letten has scheduled a news conference afterward.
Police Chief Mac Dickinson, who took office Jan. 1, succeeding Peter Dale, said he fired Ney on Jan. 28 after an internal investigation.
