Obama says economics, security to be themes in Mexico visit

President Barack Obama said a trip to Mexico this week will center on economic issues such as trade and energy but security issues will not be far behind.

“A lot of the focus is going to be on economics,” Obama said during a news conference. “We’ve spent so much time on security issues between the United States and Mexico that sometimes I think we forget this is a massive trading partner, responsible for huge amounts of commerce and huge numbers of jobs on both sides of the border.”

Obama is due to visit Mexico on Thursday, holding meetings and having dinner with President Enrique Pena Nieto.

Common Car Accident Injuries

Car accidents rank among the leading causes of death for young to middle aged adults. Many people are fortunate to be able to escape a car accident with only minor injuries or even no injuries whatsoever, but most people are not that lucky. Search on for 2 escaped MDC inmates

– MDC officials are searching for two inmates that have escaped from their custody Monday night.

Officials say around 6 o’clock Monday night inmates Andreas Macias and Brandon Davis were picked up from court.

While they on their way back to the Metro Detention Center, Officer Danny Sisneros stopped at UNMH to pick up another inmate who was being discharged.

Authorities say while Officer Sisneros parked the van and waited for the inmate to be transferred from the hospital, both inmates kicked the back door to the van open and escaped on foot heading east on Lomas.

Both inmates were wearing handcuffs at the time of the escape, but neither had an orange MDC inmate uniform on.

If anyone has information on their whereabouts, please contact police.
