A Milwaukee man who ran down two people outside a downtown night club last year, killing one and injuring the other, has been sentenced to 13 years in prison.
Steven Deshawn Shaw, 26, will also serve eight years of extended supervision upon release, according to the sentence imposed Friday by Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Kevin Martens.
According to the complaint, Shaw swerved his SUV into pedestrians outside of 311 E. Wisconsin Ave. where a disturbance among a group of women inside had spilled out to the sidewalk.
Omar Terry, 35 was dragged underneath, suffered massive internal injuries and died. The SUV also struck Timothy Houston, 28, and ran over his legs.
Shaw pleaded guilty in January to first-degree reckless homicide and second degree recklessly endangering safety.
