Woman Files Personal Injury Lawsuit Over 2009 Cowboys Facility Collapse

A woman who works for the Dallas Cowboys recently filed a personal injury lawsuit over the 2009 collapse of one of the teams practice facilities.According to The Associated Press, the 88,000-square-foot building collapsed during a May 2009 wind storm, which occurred during rookie minicamp. Jancy Briles, who works in the teams public relations department, claims in her lawsuit that she suffered injuries – which were not disclosed in the filing – as a result of the incident.The Cowboys are not named in the suit. Instead Briles identifies Summit Structures LLC of Pennsylvania and its parent, Cover-All Building Systems Inc. of Canada, as defendants in the suit.The collapse of the facility resulted in serious injuries to a number of Cowboys personnel. According to the news source, special teams coach Joe DeCamillis endured broken vertebrae and scout Rich Behm was paralyzed from the waste down as a result of the incident. The two received settlements totalling $35 million, reports the AP.KWTX reports that tight end Jamar Hunt from the University of Texas – El Paso suffered a herniated disk as a result of the collapse.
